How do I cancel my reservation?

 

At National we offer a couple of ways to cancel your reservation online. In order to do so, you must know your confirmation number or Emerald Club login information. Your confirmation number can be found on the reservation confirmation e-mail we sent you when the reservation as made.

 

If you know your confirmation number or Emerald Club login information, please us one of the options below for a step by step guide on how to cancel your reservation.

 

If you do not know your confirmation number or your Emerald Club login information, you will need to call one of our customer service specialist at 1 (844) 382-6875 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

How to cancel a reservation if you know your confirmation number and are not logged into an Emerald Club account

 

  1. Go to https://www.nationalcar.com

  2. Click the 'View/Modify/Cancel' link.

  3. Enter your first name, last name, and confirmation number. Then click 'Find Reservation'.

  4. If the information is correct, you will be directed to the 'Trip Details' page. Once on this page, scroll to the bottom and look for the 'Cancel Reservation' button on the left.

    If the information is incorrect, you will see the following error message, "One or more of the fields you entered (First Name, Last Name or Confirmation Number) are invalid. Please correct your entries and try again."


    Should you receive this error, make sure your name is entered the exact same way it is on your reservation confirmation e-mail. This format can be found next to the 'Driver Name' field under the 'Your Information' section of the confirmation e-mail.


  5. After clicking the 'Cancel Reservation' button, you will receive the following message. If you wish to cancel the reservation, click 'Yes'.

    If you do not wish to cancel the reservation, click 'No'. Once 'No' has been clicked you will to be taken back to the previous screen.

  6. If you selected 'Yes', you will be taken to the reservation cancellation screen and you will receive a National Reservation Cancellation e-mail from us.

 

How to cancel a reservation if you do not know your confirmation number but are logged into an Emerald Club account

 

  1. Log into your Emerald Club Profile. (Click here to open the login screen in a new window)

  5. Click on the reservation you want to cancel.

  6. You will then be taken to the 'Trip Details' page. Once on this page, scroll to the bottom and look for the 'Cancel Reservation' button on the left.

  7. After clicking the 'Cancel Reservation' button, you will receive the following message. If you wish to cancel the reservation, click 'Yes'.

    If you do not wish to cancel the reservation, click 'No'. Once 'No' has been clicked you will to be taken back to the previous screen.

  8. If you selected 'Yes', you will be taken to the reservation cancellation screen and you will receive a National Reservation Cancellation e-mail from us.

  6. If you selected 'Yes', you will be taken to the reservation cancellation screen and you will receive a National Reservation Cancellation e-mail from us.
